Tee Time

When Don Allardice passed away in December 2007 his fellow Mount Seymour Lions members were determined to do something significant to honour his memory and recognize his tremendous record of service to the community. Don loved his golf so in June 2008 the inaugural Don Allardice Memorial Golf Tournament was held. Two more tournaments followed in 2009 and 2010. The three events have raised $17,000, all of which has been donated to causes that were special to Don; the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation Hospice, the North Shore Youth Safe House and the Parkgate Community Services Society Kids Up Front project.

We have had marvelous support for the tournament from a number of sponsors and all participants have a fun time. Serious golfers are welcome but with Texas Scramble rules in effect and “fundraising” Mulligans available, everyone goes home with something.

The Fourth Annual Don Allardice Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Country Meadows Golf Course in Richmond.
