A presentation ceremony was held on December 5, 2010 up Grouse Mountain to recognize the donation of a new sit-ski to Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports Society (VASS) by the Mount Seymour Lions Society.

Donated by the Mt. Seymour Lions Club

VASS is a volunteer organization whose mission is to make winter alpine recreation accessible to everyone, by teaching skiing and snowboarding to people with any type of disability. However sit-skis cost in the neighbourhood of $4,000 to $6,000 and are not something that many families can afford to buy.

This is where the Mount Seymour Lions came in, by donating the funds to purchase this brand new sit-ski. Now VASS will be able to deliver more lessons on our North Shore mountains. As Mount Seymour Lions Past President Dennis Simpson said “We have seen the work that VASS does and believe that both organizations share the same commitment to build a brighter future for our community”.
